We continue to miss Laurie’s presence, six months and four days after her passing. Tomorrow would have been her half-birthday – 74 1/2 years old. Laurie was an exceptionally talented social worker who positively impacted the lives of hundreds of students and their families. She cared about those children and their families beyond what many who work with students do.
She was also a very dear friend, college roommate, and caring woman. Marianne retains fond memories from our undergraduate days, with many stops along the way through to the last weeks of Laurie’s illness. Just a few include enjoying our shared love of board games, playing card and other games, lively conversation, our weekly breakfasts at the Continental.
Both of us treasure our time spent with Laurie and her husband Richard. Laurie’s memory is truly a blessing. May she rest in peace eternally.

Dear Richard,
My sincere sympathy to you on Laurie’s passing. I recall the drug industry programs we attended together, and her enthusiasm and zest will always stick out in my mind. May her memory be a blessing and a source of inspiration to you and your family.
Regards,
Arnie

Dearest Richard,
My deepest condolences, I’m still in disbelief. I have so many happy memories of Laurie. I will never forget our lunches at Wildfire. Not only was she my mentor, she was a loving friend. She will be truly missed. If you ever need anything we are a phone call away. Sending you lots of hugs.

Hi Rich,
Laurie and I worked together for 17 years as you know. We also worked many summers together. She was always a wonderful social worker and the school kids really loved her. She was helpful to me in many ways being the school counselor. Although we hadn’t seen each other in a number of years, I will miss her love of life and enthusiasm for her job. May her memory be for a blessing.
